Mark Bechter

Mark Bechter is an experienced medical affairs executive with a career spanning over 17 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Currently serving as the SVP Head of Medical Affairs at Avanzanite Bioscience, a position held since September 2025, Bechter previously held the role of VP of Medical Operations and Patient Advocacy at Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals from January 2023 to September 2025. Prior to that, Bechter was VP of Medical Affairs at Aeglea BioTherapeutics, Medical Director for the UK, Ireland and Nordics at Baxter Healthcare Limited, and Chief Medical Officer at Precision Medicine Catapult. Additional roles include Head of Medical Affairs - International at Amicus Therapeutics, Vice President of EU Medical Affairs at Synageva BioPharma Corp, and Medical Director positions at Chiesi Group and Novartis. Bechter began the career at Baxter International Inc. as Global Medical Director. Bechter holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Southampton.
