Arne Gething

Arne Gething has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Arne is currently working as a Delivery Director at Avec, where they focus on providing value-driven technology consulting solutions to clients. Prior to joining Avec, Arne held the role of Lead Consultant at the same company, where they simplified and streamlined IT project delivery processes.

Before their time at Avec, Arne embarked on a self-employed sabbatical from 2018 to 2020, during which they sailed the world with their family. This experience allowed him to explore various regions and engage in home-schooling their children.

Arne also served as a Senior Project Manager at the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, they worked as a Program/Project Manager during their relocation to Australia in 2016.

In 2014, Arne worked at Old Mutual South Africa in multiple roles. Arne served as a Program Manager, where they managed a cross-functional team for digital transformation projects and created a customer engagement strategy. Arne also fulfilled the role of Portfolio Manager, overseeing various projects related to infrastructure upgrades, Lean processes, and cost savings initiatives.

Prior to their role with Old Mutual South Africa, Arne worked at Old Mutual as a Transformation Project/Program Manager. In this position, they facilitated the outsourcing, insourcing, and transformation of IT services, platforms, and core technologies for multiple companies within the Old Mutual Group.

Arne's earlier career included roles such as Travelling around the world, serving as a Technical Project Consultant at ODS Business Services Ltd, and working as an IT Manager at Deluxe Media Services. Arne was responsible for integrating acquired businesses, designing IT infrastructures, and managing IT services.

Arne began their career at IBM Global Services as a Technical Manager, overseeing the CWC helpdesk and managing technical support for clients.

Overall, Arne Gething has amassed extensive experience in project and program management, IT consulting, and leadership roles across various industries and organizations.

Arne Gething obtained an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stellenbosch University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. Before that, they completed their high school education at the same university from 1986 to 1990. Arne also holds additional certifications in Agile Project Management, Agile Scrum Master, CAST Highlights - Certification, PRINCE2 Agile Foundation & Practitioner, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
