Baker Ngan

Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer, R&D at Avegant

Baker Ngan has four years of work experience in Embedded Software/Firmware Engineering. From 2018 to present, they have been working as an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer, R&D at Avegant. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer at eatsa. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer at Avegant, where they were responsible for firmware development on Avegant's latest head mounted wearable technology. Baker designed and developed robust, multi-threaded (RTOS) applications/firmware/drivers/peripherals that runs on ARM Cortex-M series microcontrollers. Additionally, they implemented various on-board and external peripheral drivers, as well as serial interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, and USB drivers. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer (Consultant) at Sensus Metering Systems, where they were responsible for embedded firmware development on current generation smart meters, Automatic Meter Infrastructure (AMI), and other related metering products. Baker integrated RTOS driven IPv6 stack onto existing wireless protocol and translated messages as IP packets, allowing for TCP/IP applications to be developed on smart meter and communicate with existing protocol.

Baker Ngan completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering at UC Santa Barbara from 2008 to 2012.
