Rohit P. has worked in the optical engineering field since 2010. In 2010, they were a Research Assistant at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). In 2012, they were a Research Intern at Biocartis, where they investigated surface-assisted fluorescent signal enhancement techniques to improve the detection limit on Biocartis' microfluidic assay platform. In 2013, they were a Visiting Researcher at EMBL, where they identified and corrected common optical aberrations in the custom-built setup. In 2016, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, where they developed a quantitative phase imaging (QPI) microscope module. In 2017, they became an Optical Engineer at Magic Leap, where they performed optical system design, tolerancing and stray light analysis of projection optics using Zemax OpticStudio and LightTools. Lastly, in 2020, they became a Senior Research Optical Engineer at Avegant.
Rohit P. obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) from Anna University in 2009. Rohit then completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Bioengineering from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 2013, transferring credits from their BTech. In 2017, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Rochester.
