Tim Stauffer is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in structural and civil engineering. Currently serving as Senior Structural Engineer at AVELAR since October 2018, Stauffer previously held positions as Lead Civil/Structural Engineer at VERSA Engineering & Technology and Engineering Manager for Innovation at Simpson Strong-Tie, where significant contributions included initiating an innovation program and leading R&D for numerous structural connector products. As the founder and owner of Tim Stauffer, S.E. from 2000 to 2008, Stauffer managed over 200 custom residential projects. Early career experience includes roles as Project Engineer at Degenkolb Engineers and Design Engineer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., focusing on structural design and forensic investigations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University.

AVELAR, formerly Richard Avelar + Associates, is a Walnut Creek based firm, providing comprehensive forensic architectural, engineering, construction and reconstruction management services on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects throughout the Western United States since 1976.
