Jim Prather has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Jim started their career as a News Director at WTMJ-TV in 1991. Jim then joined Journal Broadcast Group as Vice President/General Manager of WTMJ-TV, where they successfully improved news ratings and market research preference. Jim also held corporate roles and supervised multiple markets. In 2003, they joined The E.W. Scripps Company/Journal Broadcast Group as Vice President/General Manager of KTNV-TV, where they developed strategic plans and achieved significant revenue and social media growth. In 2017, they started their own company, James P. Prather LLC, as a consultant, specializing in building brands and creating video content strategies. Currently, they work as the Vice President of Digital Strategy at Las Vegas Review-Journal, where they lead programming initiatives across various platforms.

Jim Prather has a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio and Television from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Jim also holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield.
