Steven Chavez

Steven Chavez has a diverse work experience in the technology field. Steven is currently a Cybersecurity Engineer at Avertium since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Information Security Analyst at the City of Albuquerque from 2020 to 2022. Before that, they served as an IT Support Technician at Lavu Inc. from 2019 to 2020, where they automated tasks, prepared the company for remote work, and obtained AWS Certification for server migration. Steven also worked as a Technical Support Specialist at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute from 2018 to 2019, where they automated user creation and server upgrades, and created a switch map to improve network troubleshooting. Steven gained technical support experience as a Technical Support Specialist at SABIO SYSTEMS, LLC and as a Computer Technician contracted with TIG from 2017 to 2018. Steven's earliest work experience was as an Equipment Manager at PepsiCo from 2012 to 2017.

Steven Chavez obtained a Certificate of Completion in Web Development from Deep Dive Coding Bootcamp in 2015. Steven then pursued an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems, with a concentration in Computer Programming, from Central New Mexico Community College from 2014 to 2016. Following this, they attended Grand Canyon University from 2016 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with an emphasis on Cyber Security. Steven also holds additional certifications including AWS Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS), obtained in January 2020, and Security+ from CompTIA, obtained in March 2018.
