Ed Summers

Ed Summers is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law. Currently serving as Corporate Counsel at Avery Dennison since 2011, Ed provides legal services focusing on commercial law, contract negotiation, and procurement, particularly in Information Technology. Prior to this, Ed held key legal positions at Harman International from 1998 to 2010, including Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, overseeing legal matters in the automotive audio industry. Ed's earlier roles include Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at First Alliance Corporation, where Ed established the Office of the General Counsel and managed IPO processes, and Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary at Transamerica Finance, supervising a legal team across multiple states. Ed's legal expertise at Avery Dennison began in 1979, with a tenure as Associate General Counsel focusing on securities law compliance. Ed holds a B.A. cum laude in English from Harvard University and a JD from USC Gould School of Law.
