Jeevan Mathura

Jeevan Mathura, Jr, MD is a highly experienced ophthalmologist and medical professional, currently serving as the Owner and Chief Medical Officer at Diabetic Eye & Macular Disease Specialists, LLC, since May 2015. Additionally, Jeevan holds a position on the DC Advisory Board for Avēsis Incorporated, starting in June 2017. As a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2004, Jeevan has made significant contributions to the field. Previous roles include Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Co-director of the Vitreoretinal Service at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences from September 2006 to April 2015, and Assistant Professor at Northwestern Medicine from 2003 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown University, complemented by a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University in early 2021.
