Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson is the Senior Vice President of Research and Development for the Operations Business Unit at AVEVA, a position held since March 2021. In this role, Chris oversees software development teams across Monitoring & Control, Information Management, and Asset Performance Management & Operations Execution. Prior to AVEVA, Chris was the Vice President of Software Development at OSIsoft from 2002 to March 2021, leading approximately 400 technical colleagues in multiple agile teams. Earlier roles at OSIsoft included Director of Visualization Products and Director of Engineering Initiatives. Chris began a career in software development at Merck, serving in various technical roles from 1994 to 2000. Chris holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University, obtained in 1996, and graduated from Ocean City High School in 1992.
