Jean Lapointe

Jean Lapointe is an experienced R&D Manager currently leading the Industrial Platform at AVEVA since July 2024. Previously, Jean held the position of Director of Engineering at Smiota from May 2021 to July 2024 and served as Development Manager at AVEVA from November 2019 to April 2021. Prior to these roles, Jean was a Software Engineering Manager at MediaKind, which was formerly a division of Ericsson, from September 2013 to November 2019, and also worked as Software Engineering Manager 1 at Ericsson until July 2018. Jean's career began as a Senior Software Developer at Matrox Video, spanning from May 1995 to September 2013, alongside an engineering internship at the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec in 1994. Jean holds a Bachelor in Automated Production Engineering, specializing in Industrial Computing from École de technologie supérieure, and an Electronic Technician degree from Cegep Lionel Groulx.
