Tim Funnell

Tim Funnell's work experience includes various roles in biotechnology and venture capital. Tim is currently a Partner at Monograph Capital, starting in June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Ascend Gene & Cell Therapies as Executive Director from December 2021 to May 2023, and as Founding CEO from May 2023 onwards. Tim also served as an Investor Director at Maxion Therapeutics starting in February 2022 and at AviadoBio starting in November 2021. In 2020, they became a Trustee of OUTbio UK. From 2018 to 2021, they were part of the founding team at MiroBio Ltd as VP of Operations. Additionally, they worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Oxford Sciences Innovation from 2018 to 2019. Starting in 2017, they were part of the founding team at Casma Therapeutics as Corporate Development and served as a Principal at Third Rock Ventures. Tim began their career in 2016 as part of the founding team at Gyroscope Therapeutics, focusing on Business Development and Operations.

Tim Funnell completed their education with a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, physics, and math from Eton College between 2002 and 2004. Tim then pursued a bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, specializing in pharmacology, at the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2007. Later, they attended the University of Oxford from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a DPhil degree in Pharmacology.
