Derek McCants, ACE, is a seasoned editor and educator with extensive experience in film and television post-production. As a Full Member of American Cinema Editors since September 2021, McCants has also served as a Certified Instructor for DaVinci Resolve at Blackmagic Design and as an Avid Certified Instructor since 1995, teaching at various prestigious institutions. McCants has a diverse editing portfolio, having worked with major clients such as Warner Brothers, CBS, and NBC, and has contributed to projects like "All God's Children" and reality series for ITV America and Bunim Murray Productions. In addition to editing, McCants was a juror at the 25th Woodstock Film Festival, evaluating documentary editing entries. McCants holds degrees from Roger Williams University, Baldwin, and The Dalton School.
