Lakesha Ray

Professional Staff Developer

Lakesha Ray, Ph.D., serves as a School Counselor for the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District since September 2001, offering academic, social, and career counseling to junior high students while supervising counseling interns and assisting teaching staff. Additionally, Lakesha has contributed as a Professional Staff Developer for the AVID Center since April 2014, focusing on professional development for educators on AVID methodologies. In academia, Lakesha has been an Adjunct Faculty member at both California State University, Bakersfield, and Point Loma Nazarene University since April 2010 and April 2011, respectively, teaching in the Masters in School Counseling program. Prior experience includes a role as an Adjunct Faculty member with the Kern Community College District from June 2004 to May 2010, where curriculum development and academic advisement were key responsibilities. Lakesha Ray earned a Ph.D. in Counseling from Capella University (2013), a Master of Arts in School Counseling from California State University, Bakersfield (2003), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield (1999).
