David Sala Cano

Senior Scientist at Avidity

David Sala Cano began their work experience in 2007 as a PhD student and postdoctoral fellow at IRB Barcelona, where they focused on the mechanism regulating skeletal muscle metabolism. During this time, their main achievement was the identification of TP53INP2 as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. David then continued their postdoctoral work at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in 2014, conducting research on muscle stem cell function and skeletal muscle regeneration. David'swork aimed to identify potential targets for improving muscle regeneration in aged and disease contexts. In 2019, David joined Avidity Biosciences, Inc. as a scientist, and later became a senior scientist. No end dates were provided for their roles at Avidity Biosciences, Inc.

David Sala Cano completed their education in the field of biomedicine. In 2003, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from Universitat de Barcelona. David then pursued further studies at the same university and from 2007 to 2009, they earned a Master's equivalent degree (DEA) in Physiology. Building upon their previous degrees, David pursued a doctoral degree in Biomedicine from 2007 to 2013. To accomplish this, they attended both Universitat de Barcelona and IRB Barcelona.
