James Singletary

James Singletary is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Avient Corporation since April 2022. Prior to this role, James worked at DuPont from 2008 to April 2022, where responsibilities included serving as Principal Investigator for aramid research and development, providing technical support for Tensylon(R) solid-state extruded UHMWPE films, and contributing to new product development and sales support for armor materials. James began their career at 3TEX, Inc. as a Senior Composites Engineer, focusing on contract program management and composite prototyping. Academically, James holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Fiber and Polymer Science and a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, both from North Carolina State University.
