At AviSia Therapeutics we develop antigen-specific immunotherapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Our innovative solution uses glycans, complex carbohydrate structures that act as recognition elements for cellular communication to reprogram dendritic cells (DCs) and restore tolerance. 

The approach is based on scientific results provided by the group of Prof. Yvette van Kooyk (CSO of AviSia Therapeutics and Head of Molecular Cell Biology and Immunology Department at AUMC) and is protected by a strong IP portfolio with tremendous applications across multiple indications. 

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) was selected as the first indication that we will focus on and we have already obtained promising results in this indication.
