Daniel Murphy

Daniel Murphy, PE, currently serves as a SCADA Engineer - Network Modeling at Avista, focusing on maintaining the GE (e-Terra) SCADA transmission network model for real-time analysis and operational planning. Previously, Daniel held the position of Cyber Services Project Engineer II at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, specializing in networking and cybersecurity for power and industrial control systems, with a strong emphasis on secure design and reliability. Prior to that, Daniel worked as a Substation Automation Engineer at Seattle City Light, where responsibilities included designing SCADA networks and ensuring NERC-CIP compliance. Daniel has also held various roles in electrical services engineering and project planning while gaining foundational experience during an internship focused on power systems design. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Washington.
