Grant Espie has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Grant started their career as an Analytical Chemist at Smith Kline and French Laboratories in 1982. Later, they worked at Merck UK Ltd. as a Preparative Chromatography Specialist, where they introduced new technologies to pharmaceutical and chemical companies in the UK.
In 1998, Espie joined Novasep Inc. as an Engineering Manager, responsible for managing a group of engineers and overseeing project management, system installations, and validation. Grant'swork included projects ranging from $400K to $2-3 million.
From 2001 to 2011, Espie served as a Technical Manager at EMD Chemicals.
Starting in 2011, they worked at DuPont as a Principal Investigator, focusing on engineering design of separation systems, purification method development, and manufacturing methods implementation. Grant also worked on scale-up engineering projects.
Since 2015, Espie has been working at Avitide, Inc. as the Director of Resin Manufacturing. Grant'srole involved setting up manufacturing facilities, developing resin conjugation chemistry, selecting base beads for high-quality resin delivery to the Pharma and Biopharma sectors, implementing a QMS for manufacturing operations, and establishing a GLP QC laboratory. Grant was also responsible for manufacturing custom affinity resins and developing aseptic manufacturing technologies.
Grant Espie attended the University of Hertfordshire from 1976 to 1980. During this period, they did not obtain a specific degree or focus on a particular field of study. However, they later pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Applied Biology, specializing in Clinical Biochemistry/Toxicology, at the same university.
