Ewan Mitchell

Ewan Mitchell is an accomplished ML and GenAI Lead at Aviva since March 2018, where responsibilities include enhancing the ML capability of the Customer Science team, leading diverse teams, and refining Agile processes. Previously, Ewan served as Interim ML, MLOps, and Data Engineering Lead, as well as Data Science Team Lead, contributing significantly to UK customer segmentation and the development of SONAR NLP capabilities. In a brief role as Data Science Lead for the COVID-19 response at the National Emergencies Trust, Ewan established a rapid allocation formula for emergency funds while managing a dedicated team. Earlier experience includes founding the Analytics department at Company Watch, where Ewan introduced machine learning methodologies and developed the H-Score metric for evaluating financial health. Ewan holds a DPhil in Astrophysics from Oxford University and an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
