Rory Beyer

President & COO at Avive Solutions

Rory Beyer is the President and COO of Avive Solutions. Rory was previously an intern at Apple, where they contributed to the development and design of future generation accessory products. Rory also worked at Marenco Engineering Technologies Africa, where they worked on the development of a Darrieus vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) that generates power through smaller horizontal axis turbines on the larger rotating turbine blades themselves, instead of a large generator at the base of the turbine. Rory has a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they worked on synthetic "Gecko" gloves and shoes that a person can wear in order to climb up any type of surface, using the adhesion of a glove/shoe. The material is based off the microstructure of a gecko's footpad, and all work was done in the MIT Microsystems Technology Laboratory (MTL), creating features as small as 10 microns. Rory is also a backpacking guide, and has worked for Lasting Adventures from June 2011 to August 2014.

Rory Beyer received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Rory also received a certification from PADI in Rescue Diver and Enriched Air Diver, and a certification from the State of California in California Food Handler. Finally, they received a certification from the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) in Wilderness First Responder.

They work with Jess Koenig - Head, People, Hamid Idrissi - Head, Regulatory Affairs, and Moseley Andrews - CTO. Their manager is Sameer Jafri, CEO. A direct report to Rory Beyer is and Robert Founds - Head, Quality Assurance.
