Rick Carrell

Rick Carrell has extensive experience in embedded processing and hardware engineering, with a career spanning over three decades. Currently, Rick serves as a Xilinx Processor Specialist at Avnet, where responsibilities include accelerating the adoption of Xilinx’s embedded solutions across the Southeast US. Previously, Rick held the position of Processor Specialist Field Application Engineer at Xilinx, focusing on microprocessor-based solutions. Additionally, Rick contributed to Wind River Systems as a Member Technical Staff, providing pre-sale customer support, and served as a Senior Hardware Engineer at both ADC Telecommunications and XACT Inc. Earlier roles include Lead Engineer at Opcom, Lead Electrical Engineer at Compaq Computer Corporation, and Senior Design Engineer at Interphase, where Rick led multiple projects in hardware and software development, particularly in telecommunications and networking systems.
