Richard Exton has a strong background in technology management, with experience spanning over several companies. Richard began their career as a Computer Programmer at State Bank of NSW in 1989. From there, they moved on to Colonial Group, where they served as a Systems Delivery Manager for seven years. Richard then joined Brokat Technologies AG as the Director of Research & Development before transitioning to Colonial First State as the General Manager of Technology. Richard's next role was with Vietnam International Bank (VIB) as an Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor. Richard then worked as the General Manager of Technology (North Asia) at Commonwealth Bank. After that, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Bank of Hangzhou Co., Ltd. and later at ANZ as the Head of Technology for E*TRADE. Prior to their current position, Richard worked as the Division Director of Technology at Macquarie Group. Richard is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Aware Super.
Richard Exton has participated in various educational programs and courses throughout their career. Richard completed an Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School in the United States. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Financial Technology degree from UNSW and a Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Richard also took part in an Executive Education Program at Macquarie Business School. Furthermore, they earned a Graduate Certificate of Commercial Law from Deakin University, as well as a Bachelor of Computing degree with a focus on Computer Science and Software Development from the same institution. Richard has also pursued professional certifications, including a Sydney Futures Exchange Certificate from FINSIA and a Financial Markets course from the Stockbrokers Association of Australia. Lastly, they attended the Mandarin Capital Language School in China, completing a Chinese Language Course.
