Rick Bird has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the petroleum industry. Rick started their career at ConocoPhillips as a Staff Engineer and later became a Senior Engineer in Business Development. Rick then joined Petro Source Corporation as General Manager, overseeing engineering and project management. Afterwards, they worked at Interwest Consulting Group as Vice President of Business Development. Rick then joined Paramount Petroleum Paramount Asphalt as General Manager. Following this role, they worked at Alon USA, where they held various positions including Vice President of Asphalt Operations and Vice President of Asphalt Marketing. Most recently, they served as Executive Vice President and President of Asphalt Marketing at Axeon Specialty Products.
Rick Bird received a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah, where they studied from 1978 to 1980.

Axeon Specialty Products LLC (Axeon SP) provides an array of petroleum-related specialty products through its refineries and network of company-owned and leased terminals, along with robust and comprehensive technical support services. Axeon SP is a specialty petroleum products company with a proud lineage. Originally part of CITGO Asphalt Refining Company, it was acquired by NuStar Energy LP in 2008 and became a joint venture with Lindsay Goldberg LLC in 2012. In February 2014, the company was purchased outright by Lindsay Goldberg LLC, naming it Axeon Specialty Products.
