Director of Engineering at Axial

Zach Werheim is the Director of Engineering at Axial, a NYC-based B2C sports data and analytics start-up that services three customer segments: sports bettors, daily fantasy players and season-long fantasy players. Werheim has over 7 years of experience in the software engineering field and has been with Axial since July 2019. Prior to their current role, Werheim served as a Senior Software Engineer at RotoQL from February 2018 to July 2019.

At RotoQL, Werheim worked directly with the Product Manager and CEO to lead the team in building a high quality web and mobile platform. Zach was also responsible for making architecture decisions, authoring and communicating engineering standards and best practices, providing thought leadership, evaluating third party products, conducting peer code review, and mentoring other engineers.

Before joining RotoQL, Werheim was a Back-End engineer at NaviSite from February 2012 to February 2018. At NaviSite, they developed and maintained distributed and asynchronous python API servers in Google Cloud.

Zach Werheim began their educational career by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University at Albany, SUNY.
