David White

President & Co-Founder at Axio

David White is the founder and president of Axio, a company dedicated to complete cyber risk management solutions for critical infrastructure owners and operators. David is also the founder and COO of Axio Global, a firm dedicated to complete cyber risk management solutions for critical infrastructure owners and operators. Prior to their work at Axio, David was the technical manager for the Software Engineering Institute's Cybersecurity and Resilience Frameworks Portfolio, CERT Program. In this role, they were responsible for the technical leadership and research strategy for CERT's cybersecurity and resilience maturity models and frameworks and associated research, diagnostic methods, and training. David also initiated the development of two ES-C2M2 derivatives: IT-C2M2, an information technology centric model, and ONG-C2M2, a derivative for the oil and natural gas sector. In addition to their work at the Software Engineering Institute, David has also worked as a managing director at Civitas Group, where they helped develop a new suite of cybersecurity risk management offerings. This work led to the formation of Axio Global.

David White attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1987-1989, where they studied civil engineering and robotics. Their thesis advisor was Red Whittaker, and their research included the development of a patented electromagnetic device for locating buried pipes and cables. David also attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1983-1987, where they studied civil engineering and engineering and public policy. Lastly, they attended the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics from 1981-1983.
