Nick Halter

Nick Halter is a seasoned journalist currently serving as a Reporter at Axios since January 2021, where responsibilities include co-writing a daily newsletter focused on the Twin Cities. Prior experience encompasses over two decades in various reporting roles, including serving as a Staff Reporter for the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal, covering retail and sports business from August 2013 to January 2021. Halter worked as a Reporter for Minnesota Premier Publications, focusing on Minneapolis City Hall and the Park Board, and as a Government and Investigative Reporter for Gannett Newspapers, where achievements included winning first place in Investigative Reporting from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association in 2010. Earlier experience includes a role as Riverboat Captain at Padelford Packet Boat Company and journalistic positions at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and The Spectator, where Halter held leadership roles. Halter earned a B.A. in Print Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2008.
