Zachery Eanes

Zachery Eanes is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in reporting on technology, business, and economic issues. Currently serving as a Reporter at Axios since April 2022, Eanes previously held the role of Innovation and Technology Reporter at The News & Observer Publishing Company, where work included coverage of biotechnology and education, as well as a notable focus on gentrification, earning a McClatchy President's Award for Journalism Excellence. Eanes has also reported on real estate and economic development, consistently exceeding performance goals and utilizing public records for impactful stories. Earlier roles include Business Reporter at The Herald-Sun and a Dow Jones News Fund internship with the Washington Business Journal. Eanes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Journalism from the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, with a minor in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
