Ben Stilwell

Ben Stilwell worked as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Group Head of Enterprise Risk Management at AXIS (AXIS Capital) starting in June 2022 and continued in their CRO role as of May 2023. Previously, they were a Senior Risk Manager at Beazley from May 2015 to June 2022, where they initially oversaw insurance-related risks and then focused on strategic, group, regulatory, and legal risk areas. Ben also served as a Risk Manager at Beazley from March 2010 to May 2015, supporting colleagues in the US across all areas of risk with a focus on underwriting and claims activity. Before that, they held positions as Assistant Risk Manager and Risk Manager at Beazley from July 2006 to January 2009 and from January 2009 to March 2010, respectively. Prior to joining Beazley, they worked as a Commercial Officer at AWE from August 2005 to June 2006.

Ben Stilwell completed the Beazley Business Insight and Innovation Programme in Insurance at Bayes Business School in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained the CII level 6 Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute from 2008 to 2015. In 2005, they completed the Legal Practitioners Course at the College of Law, Guildford. Earlier, they graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in Law and European Studies from the University of Surrey in 2004. Ben Stilwell's education began at King Edward VI School in Southampton from 1994 to 1999.
