Jay Alam is currently a Senior Underwriter specializing in Terrorism and Political Violence at AXIS Capital, a position held since 2024. Prior to this, they served as a Class Underwriter for Political Violence at Talbot Underwriting Ltd from 2021 to 2024 and held various roles in the war and terrorism underwriting sector at AEGIS London from 2016 to 2020. Jay gained foundational experience through internships at BlackRock and Newton Investment Management in 2015. In their academic pursuits, they are working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Astrophysics at UCL while also holding A Levels in Mathematics, Economics, and Physics from City and Islington College.
