Peter Vogt

Peter Vogt is the current CFO at AXIS Capital. Prior to this, they were the Executive Vice President and CFO at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. from January 2005 to December 2010. In this role, they reported to the Chairman, President and CEO of Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and was responsible for financial reporting, management reporting, accounting, corporate actuarial, business/financial controls, financial projections, capital adequacy, treasury, tax, expense management, risk management, and development of financial staff.

Some notable accomplishments during their time at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. include successfully managing the company's financial results through an economic downturn, returning the company to operating profitability after one quarter, and net income positive after two quarters. Peter also developed management reporting to provide clarity and insights into business performance and implemented financial controls across the organization to reduce errors and comply with Model Audit Rule regulation.

In addition, Peter Vogt organized and developed the financial staff to provide high performing results in corporate actuarial, product development, and accounting. Peter also implemented a full actuarial development program. Thanks to their efforts, AXIS Capital is in a strong financial position today.

Peter Vogt has a bachelors in business administration with a concentration in actuarial science from Temple University. Peter also has a Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College of Financial Services. Peter is certified by the Society of Actuaries as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and by the American Academy of Actuaries as a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Peter Vogt reports to Albert A. Benchimol, President & CEO. They work with Les Loh - President, Asia Pacific, Keith Schlosser - Global Chief Information Officer, and Conrad D. Brooks - General Counsel. A direct report to Peter Vogt is and Martin McCarty - Global Treasurer.
