Thomas Grasso is a Marine Insurance and Transportation Law professional currently serving as the Head of Ocean Marine Claims for AXIS Capital. With extensive experience as Of Counsel at multiple firms, including Betancourt, Greco & Evans LLC and Wilson Elser, Thomas specialized in maritime personal injury defense, marine cargo claims, and complex litigation. Prior to this, they owned a law practice focused on major casualty claims and subrogation recoveries. Their career in maritime law began after serving as a Third Officer in the US Navy Military Sealift Command, where they received the Merchant Marine Expeditionary Award. Thomas holds an advanced US Coast Guard License to Second Mate Unlimited Tonnage & 1600 GT Master.
