Sara B. has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2014 with a role as an Assistant at Anna Mikii Institute. In 2016, they took on roles at the University of Essex as a Student Caller, Employability Ambassador, Applicant Day Ambassador, Maths Support Online Resources Frontrunner, and a placement in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP). Sara also worked as a Care Worker at Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency and as a Catering Assistant at the University of Essex Students' Union. In 2017, they were a Cancer Research Frontrunners Plus with the Cancer and Stem Cell Biology Group at the University of Essex. Most recently, in 2020, they became a Processing Operative for the Asymptomatic COVID-19 Test Centre at Keele University, and in 2023 they took on a role as a Gene Editing Scientist at Axol Bioscience Ltd.

Sara B. has a diverse educational background. Sara began their studies in 2010 at Dom Manuel Martins Secondary School in Setúbal, Portugal, where they completed a Scientific Humanistic Course of Sciences and Technology. In 2015, they graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics from the University of Essex. Sara also obtained a Professional Training Certificate in General English from Wall Street English Portugal and a Cambridge English Level 1 Certificate in ESOL International (First) from Cambridge English Language Assessment in 2015, as well as an IELTS Academic from the British Council. From 2018 to 2019, Sara completed a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Regenerative Medicine at Loughborough University. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cell and Tissue Engineering at Keele University, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, Sara has obtained an edX Verified Certificate for The Science and Business of Biotechnology in 2022 and a Bioinformatics for Biologists: An Introduction to Linux, Bash Scripting, and R from FutureLearn in 2021.
