Son Vu

Son Vu is a seasoned Staff Research Engineer at Axon, specializing in real-time, on-device Automatic License Plate Recognition since January 2017. In previous roles at Axon, including Senior Research Engineer and Research Engineer, Son contributed to enhancing AI functionalities for body and in-car cameras and researched advanced automatic video analysis platforms focused on performance optimization and deep-learning methods. Prior experience includes a Research Engineer position at Misfit Wearables, where machine vision and deep learning were key areas of focus, and an Engineering role at Fablab Saigon dedicated to organizing workshops and prototyping. Son Vu's educational background includes dual Master’s Degrees in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and Vietnamese-German University, as well as an Engineer’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bach Khoa University HCMC.
