Steven McCarthy

Steven McCarthy has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Managing Director for the UK & Ireland at Axpo Group since February 2015, where responsibilities include overseeing operations and strategic direction. Prior roles include Senior Originator and Head of UK Origination at GDF SUEZ Energy International from May 2007 to February 2015, where Steven specialized in negotiating bespoke commodity structures and managing counterparty relationships. Previous experience also includes positions as Trading Shift Team Leader at GDF SUEZ, where management of a trading team and optimization of asset performance were key responsibilities, and as Shift Trader & Commercial Coordinator at px Limited and Enron Power Operations Limited. Steven began a career as a Resource Analyst at Northern Electric Supply Limited before earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Management from Teesside University between 2003 and 2006.
