Stijn Brands

Stijn Brands is an experienced communication advisor currently working at AZL since May 2022. Previously, Stijn held similar roles at Gemeente Vaals from September 2018 to April 2022 and Gemeente Kerkrade from November 2016 to September 2018. Stijn began a career in journalism as a freelance reporter for Vaalser Weekblad, covering municipal meetings and press conferences from November 2011 to December 2016. Additional experiences include working as a field staff member for Gigant International during the summer festival season and serving as a notulist for R&M Matrix on an as-needed basis. Stijn has also completed internships with L1 Radio-TV and Media Groep Limburg. Stijn obtained a Master of Science in Information and Communication Sciences from Tilburg University and a Bachelor of Journalism in Radio from Fontys Hogeschool Journalistiek.
