James Reel

James Reel is the Classical Music Director at Arizona Public Media, where they focus on making the performing arts accessible to the public. They have a diverse background in arts journalism and management, having served as the Executive Director of the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra from 2012 to 2017, and held roles as a Classical Music Critic and Arts Editor at the Arizona Daily Star from 1988 to 1999. James also worked as an Announcer and Music Director at KUAT-FM from 1980 to 1988, and contributed to the Tucson Weekly as an Arts Editor and Theater Critic from 2002 to 2009. They earned a Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature and a Master of Library Science from the University of Arizona.
