John Chapman

John Chapman is the current Account Director at B2Gnow. John has also served as the Executive Director of Procurement Initiatives at NYC Small Business Services from December 2011 to May 2012. In this role, they were responsible for implementing the City’s Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program, an affirmative action program for public contracts. The success of this program has been rooted in services created to enhance the capacity of M/WBEs to deliver goods and services on the level the City requires; the creation of policies that encourage agencies to contract with M/WBEs and make it easier to do business with the City; and the efforts of agency contracting officers to conduct outreach to M/WBE firms. Since the beginning of the program over 35,000 contracts valued at nearly $2.5 billion have been awarded to City-certified M/WBE vendors.

Mr. Chapman has also served as the Director of Procurement Initiatives at NYC Small Business Services from December 2006 to December 2011. In this role, they were responsible for conducting outreach to M/WBE firms and helping them navigate the City’s procurement process. John also worked with city agencies to increase their use of M/WBE vendors. Under their leadership, the number of M/WBE vendors utilized by city agencies increased from 9% to 21%.

Mr. Chapman has a long history of working in public service and is committed to promoting diversity in the workplace. John has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Fordham University and a master’s degree in public administration from NYU Wagner School of Public Service.
