Ecology Manager at Babbage

Ecology Manager with experience providing terrestrial ecology advice from design and consent through to construction and compliance. Chris has more than 10 years' experience in providing ecological advice from design and consent through to construction and compliance. He is a generalist ecologist with competency in both freshwater and terrestrial ecology, however his passion is for terrestrial ecosystems where he has industry-recognized expertise working with a broad range of protected and threatened indigenous wildlife, including land snails; native frogs; reptiles; birds and long-tailed bats.

Chris has produced and contributed to numerous ecological assessments for both large and small-scale projects, from subdivisions to complex and multidisciplinary projects including pipelines, marinas, quarries, mines and NZTAs Roads of National Significance. He has also designed and established long-term ecological monitoring programs for the Department of Conservation and the Auckland Regional Council/Auckland Council.

Chris completed his degrees at Massey University in Palmerston North and Auckland, and joined Bioresearches in 2008, which in 2015 became part of Babbage Consultants. His work includes consent application advice and reviews; assessments of effects; management, monitoring and expert witness services as well as managing the Bioresearches' office.
