Michael Martin

Principal, Civil Engineering at Babbage

Michael manages the civil engineering team and enjoys dealing with the challenges of different projects. Michael says it’s important to take time to listen to the client to understand the outcome they want to achieve. His job to identify the risks and constraints, and to identify the solutions to deliver that outcome. He particularly enjoys the early stages of these projects when effective solutions can have the greatest effects on a project.

Michael’s expertise includes earthworks, erosion and sediment control, drainage, storm water treatment, flooding, water supply and pavements. He has worked across a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, infrastructure, land development, the dairy industry and educational projects.

After getting his NZ Certificate of Engineering at what is now Unitec in Auckland, Michael gained his Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Canterbury and spent 10 years in geotechnical engineering before moving to civil engineering more than 15 years ago.
