Jakob Willisch has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2011, they worked as an Assistant to the CEO at 4G Wines Pty Ltd in Cape Town. In 2013, they interned at the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry. From 2014 to 2019, Jakob was a Research Associate at the University of Mannheim, where they led multiple research projects and taught courses in game theory, mathematics, and comparative politics. In 2019, they joined Babbel as a Data Scientist and later transitioned to the role of Team Lead for Product Intelligence & Experimentation Platform. Currently, Jakob holds the position of Head of Product Data at Babbel.
Jakob Willisch completed a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Economics at the University of Bayreuth from 2009 to 2013. Jakob then pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy at UCL from 2013 to 2014. Following that, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science from the University of Mannheim, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. During their PhD program, they also had research and assistantship experiences as a Visiting Research Student at The London School of Economics and Political Science in 2016 and as a Visiting Assistant in Research at Yale University in 2017. In addition to their formal education, Jakob obtained certifications in Introduction to Deep Learning from Coursera and Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python from edX in 2019.
