Zilun Peng

Zilun Peng is a Machine Learning Engineer at Babbly since April 2022, previously serving in machine learning research at Georgian from October 2020 to March 2022, where support was provided to develop and deploy machine learning models for portfolio companies. Zilun has gained experience as an Applied Research Intern focusing on compressing the wav2vec 2 speech processing model, and as a Research Developer Intern at Aarish Technologies Inc., optimizing convolutional neural networks through existing model compression algorithms. Academic research was conducted as a Graduate Student Researcher at McGill University, developing sample-efficient optimization algorithms for reinforcement learning, alongside teaching duties as a Teaching Assistant. Zilun also interned at Zhejiang University working on recommendation algorithms and gained early experience as a Web and Communication Assistant at the University of British Columbia and a Frontend Engineer at RESAAS. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in machine learning, reinforcement learning, and optimization from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia.
