Robert Windeler is a seasoned writer and critic with extensive experience in the fields of theatre and arts journalism. Notable roles include serving as a Columnist for USA WEEKEND Magazine from 1982 to 1986 and as the West Coast Editor for the New York Times Magazine Group from 1979 to 1981. Windeler has been a Theatre Critic for Backstage since February 1999, contributing over three hundred reviews of various productions. Additional positions include teaching non-fiction writing at UCLA and USC from 1979 to 1993, and working as a Theatre and Arts Critic for NPR from 1983 to 1997. Windeler is currently a Board Member and Cabaret Critic at BistroAwards.com, and previously held the title of Cultural Tour Director at Dailey-Thorp Travel from 1992 to 2002.
