Melissa Roets

Melissa Roets has extensive experience in the field of user experience design and management consulting. Melissa currently works at Backbase, where they hold the role of Design Team Lead. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior User Experience Designer and User Experience Designer at the same company. Melissa also has experience as a Mentor for creative entrepreneurs at the Goethe-Institut Johannesburg and as a Co-Founder of ideaGenix, a management consulting services firm. Melissa has held positions such as Lead UX/UI Designer at Ambani Africa, UX Manager at FNB South Africa, and UX Lead and Senior UX Designer at Immersion Group. In addition, Melissa has worked as a Usability Specialist at FNB South Africa, a UX/UI Designer at Retro Rabbit, and a Program Coordinator and Full-time Lecturer in Graphic Design at IIE Rosebank College.

Melissa Roets has a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice from Henley Business School, which they obtained from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Cum Laude in Fine and Applied Arts at Tshwane University of Technology from 2016 to 2019. In 2015, Melissa obtained a Graphic Design GetSmarter Certificate from the University of Cape Town. Melissa's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine/Studio Arts, General, which they completed from 2009 to 2013 at Tshwane University of Technology. Additionally, Melissa has a certification in UCT Graphic Design from a short course offered by GetSmarter.
