Phil Barrett

Phil Barrett is a seasoned professional in UX design and product management, currently serving as the UX Manager for Digital Banking at Backbase since May 2023, where leadership of the UX design team is pivotal in shaping future business banking experiences. Prior to this role, Barrett was the VP of Product and Design at OfferZen, contributing to the scaling and structuring of product functions during a period of significant growth. At Absa Group, Barrett held the position of Head of Design, leading a large team of designers and collaborating with the executive team to integrate effective UX into the company’s overall strategy. Earlier experience includes an Associate Director role in Experience Design at Deloitte Digital Africa and various leadership roles at Flow Interactive, Lastminute.com, BBC Worldwide, and TV Guide, demonstrating a diverse background in digital product and service design. Phil Barrett holds an MSc in Science Communication from Imperial College London and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.
