Robert Soetens

Robert Soetens has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as VP of Product at Backbase since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Product Director at Backbase from March 2020 to January 2023. Robert served as the Director of Technology at Equiniti KYC Solutions from March 2016 to March 2020, and as a Product Manager from July 2014 to March 2016. Robert also worked as a Project Team Lead & Business Systems Analyst from July 2013 to July 2014, and as an Analyst Team Lead from April 2012 to June 2013 at Equiniti KYC Solutions. Before that, they were a Shift Supervisor at Falstaff from May 2006 to February 2012. In addition, they held a role at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, serving as Economics & Trade employee at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Santiago, Chile from February 2010 to May 2010. Furthermore, they were a Treasurer and Board Member at O.M.S.G. Plutarchus from September 2006 to September 2007.

Robert Soetens obtained a VWO degree in Economics from Twents Carmel Lyceum from 1998 to 2004. Robert then pursued a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Maastricht University between 2006 and 2010. Later, they completed a Master's degree in European Studies and European International Politics from the same university from 2010 to 2011. In 2016, they received the certification of Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance.
