Steve Ryhn has a long and varied work history. Steve began their career in 1998 as an Office Manager for CWT. Steve then moved into a Technical Analyst role for the same company, where they were responsible for troubleshooting Windows PCs/servers, MS Office, and proprietary CWT applications. Steve also wrote scripts to automate agent processes, patches, and updates, resulting in a 3% productivity gain per agent. In 2003, they took on the role of Lead Tech Analyst at CWT, where they were responsible for the IT health of a large call center. In 2005, they became Membership Director for the Minnesota Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association. In 2009, they moved to United Health Group as a Voice/Data Network Consultant. From 2013 to 2017, they worked at Optum as a Senior IT Security Consultant, managing RSA's Security Analytics and the Backbox application. In 2017, they took on the role of Sr. Sales Engineer at BackBox, serving as a technical resource for product demos and proof-of-concept installations, as well as providing Tier 2 support and QA testing for new versions and patches.
Steve Ryhn attended The George Washington University from 1995 to 1996 and obtained a Master of Forensic Science (MFS) degree in Forensic Science. Steve then obtained a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in 2017. In 2005, they obtained a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2. Lastly, they attended St. Cloud State University from 1986 to 1990 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology with a minor in Microcomputer.
