Join us in reaching Paper Check Zero!

We work with universities, scholarship providers, and public-sector agencies to eliminate paper checks from higher education payments.

Paper checks still power a majority share of higher education payments - creating delays, lost payments, manual posting, and reconciliation work that shows up weeks later for bursar and student accounts teams.

At Backpack, we replace check-based workflows with purpose-built payment infrastructure for higher education, so payments are delivered electronically, posted accurately, and reconciled cleanly. The result is less time spent chasing transactions and more time focused on higher-value financial work - improving efficiency for institutions and access and affordability for students.
