Alec Manfre

SVP & Chief Innovation Officer at Backpack

Alec Manfre has over a decade of experience in the energy industry, starting with their time as an Engineering Co-Op at GE Energy, where they gained experience in gas turbines, smart grid technology, and gas turbine application engineering. As an undergraduate researcher at Georgia Tech Research Institute, they developed a concept for a Carbon Nanotube-based Pizeo-Photo Nanogenerator, providing him a foundation for research in renewable energy. Alec is best known for their role as CEO and Co-founder of Bractlet, having raised over $7 million in capital, scaling operations, and successfully leading the company through an acquisition. Currently, as the Chief Innovation Officer at Backpack, Alec leads cross-functional teams in product, tech, and R&D, driving innovation in data platforms to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the built environment.

Alec Manfre earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011. In 2010, they participated in an exchange program at the National University of Singapore, where they also studied Mechanical Engineering.
