Backseat is a independent Hamburg-based music agency founded in 2017 by Sebastian Król and Arne Thamer. We develop and execute tailor-made PR campaigns for a wide variety of releases and genres. We cover all classic media fields (radio / print / online / TV) in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Currently we are supporting artists such as: Bilderbuch, Ane Brun, Black Sea Dahu, Jordan Mackampa, UCHE YARA, DOTA, spill tab, Max Prosa, Grandaddy, Beharie, Steintor Herrenchor, Steiner & Madlaina, Jan Plewka, Sharktank and many more.

In addition to our PR activities, we are proud to release our favourite records under the Backseat label. Together with The Orchard as distribution partner we have released records by following artists: Ami Warning, Betti Kruse, Marla Moya, Karl die Große, C'est Karma, GINA ÉTÉ, Roosmarijn, Soeckers, Signe Marie Rustad, Kliffs, Ian Fisher, Carnival Youth, BRTHR, Noth, The Bland, DI-RECT, Jonas Alaska, Of The Valley, Albert Luxus, Jo Goes Hunting, Penny Police, I'm Not a Blonde, Native, Brett Newski, Grapell, Martin Baltser, Cub & Wolf, Big Fox, Michael Moravek, Peter Piek & Karwendel.

Backseat is in charge of the music booking for the NORDEN Festival in Schleswig.

In 2021, Sebastian Król and Arne Thamer founded the Fanklub Music FKM GmbH, a new platform for bands and fans: fanklub.com

Initiated by Sebastian Król and Wiebke Kruse, Hamburgs new venue festival Klangkosmos took place for the first time in June 2025.

As an interdisciplinary addition to our main business areas, we are expanding our coaching and consulting efforts.
